Understanding NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the National Government way of providing support for Australians with a disability, including their families and carers. The NDIS has been designed to allow participants to have greater choice and control over the support that they receive and the services that suit them best.
The NDIS provides eligible participants with an individualised plan and funding for the supports that are necessary and reasonable for them to achieve their goals. Participants with an NDIS plan can control what support they receive and who provides this support to allow them the flexibility to live how they choose. Am I eligible for the NDIS?
- You must be allowed to live in Australia as an Australian citizen or permanent visa holder
- You must be under 65 years old
- You must have a permanent disability that fits the NDIS criteria

What are the early intervention entry requirements?
Children under 18 years old may meet the NDIS requirements if:
- They have an impairment or condition that is likely to be permanent
- There is evidence that getting supports now (early interventions) will really help them for the future
Children under 6 years old with a developmental delay may also be eligible. You can read more about the rules in detail on the NDIS website.
How do I apply for the NDIS?
To apply for the NDIS you need to make contact with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to make an Access Request. You can do this in the following ways:

What is an NDIS plan?
Your NDIS plan is a document that lists your goals and the support you need. If you need paid support, they will be listed with a budget amount you can spend on those supports. The NDIS plan is your plan and it’s all about you.
NDIS Price Guide
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) sets price controls for some supports included in participant plans. This regulates the pricing that registered NDIS service providers can charge for these supports. Abilities Enabled is a registered NDIS service provider and abides by the NDIS Price Guide for service support pricing. Abilities Enabled is also compliant with the NDIA’s eligibility terms to use TTP prices where applicable Temporary Transformation Payment.
TTP Pricing was introduced by NDIA on 1st July 2019 as a way for service providers to continue to provide services that benefit participants as they transition through the NDIS. From 1st July 2020, TTP pricing is set at 6% and will decrease by 1.5% each year. Abilities Enabled is a registered TTP provider and is compliant with the NDIA’s TTP pricing eligibility.
